If a scan gun can talk with your device then it can work with your companyBE POS system. The price range varies quite a bit depending on type of scanners. A decent USB scanner can be $30-$50, Wireless scanners should be in the $90-$150 range and usually have a charging cradle that uses a USB connection to the computer. Bluetooth scanners are the most expensive $150+, and are perfect for connecting to mobile checkout devices. Just like with receipt printers, the more devices you have reliant on non USB connections, if there is a disruption in that connection more hardware functionality will be affected.
The most reliable scanner connection is USB so having your main checkout computers have with a USB connection will help maintain a reliable checkout process. Wireless and Bluetooth scanners are a nice to have for processing inventory counts because employee mobility is increased.
