Have you ever been working on receiving a big order, only to get 'logged out' of the Manager system when you try to proceed to from the page where you entered products to finalize the order? The Manager system will not keep you logged in forever and there are factors with browsers and internet connectivity, that can cause a timeout, that are beyond our control.
For these reasons, we strongly recommend using the Create New Purchase Order option if you have more than 40 items, or plan on spending more than 30 minutes entering products. After entering your first few products, click Save and Continue, add PO details and (most importantly) save your PO. Once you've saved the PO, you can go to the saved order from the Open Purchase Orders link in the PO Menu and continue to add products to it. We recommend saving again, every 20-30 minutes. Once you're done adding products and have saved for the last time, you can click on the open PO and use the Receive All button at the bottom of the Receive page to quickly select all the products, then use the Update Inventory to receive the order into your system.
We are looking into adding some 'auto-save' functionality to both tools, in the future. If/ when we are able to implement this update, we will append it to this article.
